UPLiFT Plants More Mangrove Trees in Bataan. UPLiFT revisited Barangay Camachile in Orion, Bataan last March 18, 2022 for another Mangrove Tree Planting activity. The previous tree planting activity was conducted in this coastal village in October 2019. Bataan Program hosted the event and was joined by staff from the other Programs of North Operations, as well as, Area Managers of South Operations and the entire Central Head Office. Several Partners and UPLiFT Scholars of the host Program were also present.
To avoid the coming high tide, activities started early in the morning with a short orientation on the importance of mangroves in coastal communities. The participants were also briefed on the type of mangroves that were to be planted and how to properly handle the seedlings. This project is part of UPLiFT’s Adopt-A-Community Program and was done in partnership with the Samahang Mangingisda ng Camachile, the Barangay Council of Camachile and the LGU of Orion
