Schools in the Philippines are already scheduled to start the school year in August 2022 with face-to-face classes. Since the threat of Covid-19 is still present, schools will be required to provide the necessary health precautions and facilities to ensure the safety of their students, faculty, and staff. Some of these schools, especially the public schools, had tapped their alumni, as well as, the government and the private sector for help in meeting such requirements.
UPLiFT, thought its WASH Program, has chosen Camachile Elementary School in Orion, Bataan as one of the beneficiaries of the said health awareness project. In coordination with the Local Barangay Officials, UPLiFT has installed wash areas near the school’s entrance and has also donated a digital thermal scanner, alcohol, spray bottles, and face masks. A simple turn-over ceremony was held last June 17, 2022 at the school grounds.
