UPLiFT sent a delegation to attend the 2022 MCPI Annual Conference held last August 24-25, 2022 at the Century Park Hotel Manila. The group, headed by UPLiFT Executive Director Mr. Edmon Sison, was composed of representatives from the Finance and Admin department, as well as, managers from the North and South Operations.
Dr. Felipe Medalla, Governor of the Bangko Sentral ng Pilipinas, was the keynote on the 1st day and he discussed the importance of MFIs as reliable partners toward economic growth, especially at this time when the country is recovering from the Covid-19 pandemic. He also emphasized the importance of Digitalization as MFIs develop their strategies to adapt to the new normal.
On the last day of the event, Mr. Reynaldo Cancio, OIC Asst. Secretary from NEDA, presented the recent Socio-Economic Performance and Outlook of the different sectors of the Philippine economy, including that of MFIs.
